WESCOSA GOES ECO-FRIENDLY

After more than three (3) decades of manufacturing electrical equipments and continuing improvement of its facilities, WESCOSA has achieved another milestone of its operation, WESCOSA goes eco-friendly.

WESCOSA has been certified by TUV for ISO 19001-2008 for a long time, in three categories, (1) the Design, Manufacturing and Service of Transformers up to rating 20,000 kVA, 72.5 kV and packages substations including manufacture of tanks, enclosures, panels, busducts and other machined and/ or fabricated metal parts, (2) Design, manufacture, and testing of Low voltage panelboards, switchboards, motor control centers, metal-enclosed switchgear, non-segregated busducts, switchracks and control panels, Medium voltage metal-clad switchgear, Motor Control Centers and Bus ducts through 35kV, Cable support Trays of aluminum and steel, Cable Bus rated up to 38kV, 5000A, Relay, breaker control, Annunciator, interposing, synchronizing, generator control, marshalling panels and Factory and Field Services, (3) Calibration of measurement equipment for both internal and external customers. These certifications gave WESOCOSA the credibility and reliability to supply its products to the prestigious companies, end-users including international contractors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the neighboring GCC countries.

Today, WESCOSA did it again, adding another feather on its hat as they got the ISO 14001 certificate. The audit was performed last Nov. 22-23, 2011 and WESCOSA received the certificate on January of this year, 2012. TUV Nord, the accredited certifying body for ISO gave the certification for WESCOSA for applying management system in accordance to ISO 14001 procedures in its design, manufacturing and services of Transformers up to 20,000 kVA , 72.5 kV and package substations and for Manufacturing of tanks, enclosures, Panels. Bus Ducts and other machined/ or fabricated metal parts.

WESCOSA bags order worth over 50 Million SAR from the prestigious WASIT Gas Project.
WESCOSA has bagged a huge order worth over 50 Million SAR to supply the electrical distribution equipment for the prestigious “WASIT Gas Program” of Saudi Aramco.

The Wasit Gas Program will construct an onshore grassroots Central Processing Facility (CPF) to process 2.5 billion scfd of gas from the Arabiyah/Hasbah offshore fields and produce approximately 1.75 billion scfd of sales gas.

Speaking on behalf of WESCOSA, Ahmed Bin Nasser Al-Suwaidan, Managing Director and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Electrical Industry noted his pride in being selected to provide vital electrical equipment for a project of national importance: “We’re delighted to be chosen as one of the major suppliers for the WASIT project, the recognition of our product quality and designs reflects the achievements and investments that we have made in terms of our production facilities and processes. We believe that our products are on par with or at times exceed international standards, and the WASIT contract validates this belief.”

The project which is touted to be the largest gas processing facility in the world when operational in 2014. Offshore gas wellhead production and tie-in platforms along with associated pipelines and cables will be installed to provide the feed gas to the CPF. The program also provides for installing Natural Gas Liquid (NGL) fractionation facilities inside the Wasit CPF to allow for processing a 240,000 bpd C2+ NGL stream produced at Khursaniyah.

The bidding process for Wasit Gas onshore facilities had been finalized with the selection of SK Engineering & Construction Co Ltd and SAMSUNG Engineering Ltd. SK Engineering & Construction was selected for Lump Sum Turn Key (LSTK) contracts to perform the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work for the inlet and gas facilities, natural gas liquids (NGL) fractionation and the sulfur recovery units (SRU) and utilities facilities. The scope of this package includes building four (4) gas treating trains, flare and burn pit facilities, related electrical and control system including substations and process interface buildings.

WECSOSA will be supplying the following: Transformers, Switchgears, Motor Control Centers and Bus duct for this project.
